Liverpool eye Chelsea star as Bradley Barcola alternative

Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest and have reportedly submitted a verbal proposal to Chelsea.

Liverpool are continuing to explore attacking reinforcements as Andoni Iraola reshapes his squad ahead of the new season.

The Reds have already added Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz during a busy summer of change at Anfield.

However, the departures of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate have created several major gaps in the squad.

Liverpool are particularly focused on strengthening their wide attacking options following Salah’s departure.

Bradley Barcola has emerged as one of their leading targets as the club considers another major addition to Iraola’s attack.

The Paris Saint-Germain winger can operate across the frontline and has attracted significant interest during the transfer window.

However, completing a deal could prove difficult because of the huge fee required to convince PSG to sell.

Liverpool are therefore assessing alternative options in case they fail to secure their preferred target.

According to journalist Dave Davis on the Anfield Index YouTube show, Chelsea winger Pedro Neto is among the players being considered at Anfield.

The Portugal international has emerged as a potential alternative should Liverpool fail to complete a move for Barcola.

Neto enjoyed a largely injury-free 2025–26 campaign with Chelsea, making 34 Premier League appearances.

He scored five goals and provided six assists during the domestic season before representing Portugal at the 2026 World Cup.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old featured five times during the tournament and registered one assist before Portugal exited against Spain.

His future at Stamford Bridge has since become uncertain amid interest from several clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest and have reportedly submitted a verbal proposal to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Barcola remains the more prominent option as Liverpool search for a high-level winger capable of adding quality across the frontline.

However, the difficulty and potential cost of that deal could force the Reds to explore other possibilities.
