Liverpool are now eyeing a shock replacement for Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has announced that he will leave the club at the end of the current season.

The 33-year-old enjoyed perhaps his best time in a Liverpool shirt last season. Salah was pivotal in helping Liverpool clinch the Premier League title last season.

Mohamed Salah created a record last season with the most goal contributions by a single player in the Premier League’s history with 47 goal contributions.

Salah joined Liverpool in 2027 from Roma in a deal that could cost around €50 million with performance-based bonuses.

Mohamed Salah has become Liverpool’s all-time highest goal scorer in the Premier League with over 190 goals so far. He is currently third in Liverpool’s all-time goal scorers’ list.

So, replacing a player of Salah’s calibre will not be easy for the Reds. Now, there is a major chance that Salah might leave for the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad already initiating contacts.

However, the Reds could look for his replacement from the same destination where Salah is heading. Now, there are other names on this list as well.

There is no doubt that RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise are Liverpool’s dream targets to replace Mohamed Salah next season.

However, there will be competition from top European clubs for these players, which could increase their price.

That is why Liverpool have now added  Marcos Leonardo from Al-Hilal to their list of potential replacements for Mohamed Salah, according to Ekrem Konur.

The 22-year-old Brazilian joined the Saudi Pro League from Benfica in 2024. Since then, he has played over 70 games for Al-Hilal and scored over 40 goals.

So, Liverpool are impressed by the Brazilian, and it will be interesting to see whether they move for him or not in the summer.
