Liverpool have been busy this summer.

But while fans were still debating midfield targets and potential strikers, the Reds have quietly turned their attention to a teenager from Amsterdam, one who already plays like a seasoned pro.

The Premier League champions are now in direct conversations with Ajax over a player who might not be a household name yet, but certainly has the potential to become one.

And no, it is not a flashy winger or a goal-hungry forward. This time, it is a defender.

At just 19 years old, the youngster has already crossed the 100-game mark in senior football.

That is not a typo. He has played more matches for Ajax than many players manage before their mid-twenties.

And he has done it while learning not just one role, but two.

He started out as a centre-back. Calm, composed, and good on the ball, just what Ajax like.

But this past season, his shift to left-back has turned heads.

He made 31 Eredivisie appearances, helping Ajax find their rhythm after a tough period.

The boy can defend, pass, and move like a veteran.

Now, Liverpool are watching closely.

With Andy Robertson not getting any younger and could leave this summer, this could be the kind of signing that slips under the radar, until it suddenly does not.

And while some fans may be looking for a big-money headline grabber, this could be the smart move Liverpool need.

According to The Transfers Podcast, the Reds have already opened direct talks with Ajax for Jorrel Hato, and things are moving.

If this Jorrel Hato to Liverpool deal gets over the line, this will be a significant signing for the Reds.

This signing may not grab the headline but it can surely give stability to Liverpool’s defence for years to come.
