Real Madrid are planning further additions in the midfield next summer. And they have identified Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch as a priority target for the 2026 summer transfer window.
According to Fichajes, Madrid view Gravenberch as a strategic investment. They are prepared to make a serious effort to sign the Dutch midfielder.
Gravenberch has become a key figure under Arne Slot at Anfield. The 23-year-old joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in 2023.
After a difficult debut season under Jurgen Klopp, Gravenberch has thrived under Slot. The Dutch manager deployed him as a defensive midfielder. It is a shift that transformed his role in the team.
Gravenberch was instrumental in Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning campaign last season. And, he has continued his strong form into the current campaign.
The Dutch international delivered another standout performance in Liverpool’s recent 2-1 Merseyside derby win over Everton.
The midfielder is under contract until 2028. And, he has become a central part of Liverpool’s long-term plans.
Madrid have already raided Liverpool once this year. They have signed Trent Alexander-Arnold. And, they are also eyeing move for Ibrahima Konate on a free transfer.
But Gravenberch is now one of their top priorities. The report claims Madrid know that a deal won’t be easy. Liverpool would ask for a price of around £56 million for Gravenberch.
Also, Liverpool are likely to issue a firm hands-off warning Real Madrid make an approach for the midfielder.
Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso reportedly sees Gravenberch as a perfect solution for his midfield. Also, he can offer long-term value in the squad.
For now, Real Madrid are monitoring the situation closely. But pricing Gravenberch away from Anfield will not be straightforward.
