Liverpool endured a disappointing 2025-26 campaign after finishing fifth in the Premier League.
The Reds have responded with an aggressive rebuild under new head coach Andoni Iraola ahead of the new season.
The Reds are eyeing a winger to replacement Mohamed Salah, who left the club at the end of last season. Their plans suffered a setback after missing out on one of their priority targets.
Liverpool had pushed to sign Yan Diomande and even submitted a significant offer for the winger. However, the player has now chosen Paris Saint-Germain as his preferred destination.
That decision has forced Liverpool to look elsewhere. Now, the Premier League club have turned their attention towards Paris Saint-Germain.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool have already held direct discussions with the French champions over Bradley Barcola.
Tavolieri also claims Diomande’s decision to join PSG has automatically opened the door for Barcola to leave the Ligue 1 side this summer.
The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain have already discussed the French winger with several clubs, including Liverpool.
Barcola is now expected to leave PSG during the current transfer window. Liverpool’s interest comes as the club continue searching for another wide attacker ahead of the new campaign.
Whether those initial discussions develop into formal negotiations remains to be seen. However, Tavolieri’s latest update suggests Liverpool have already made their first move for Barcola.
