Liverpool plan ambitious move for Real Madrid star after Yankuba Minteh bid rejection

Competition for places has increased further following Real Madrid’s signing of Yan Diomande.

Liverpool are continuing their search for attacking reinforcements as Andoni Iraola reshapes his squad ahead of the new season.

The Reds need greater depth across the frontline following Mohamed Salah’s departure and an inconsistent 2025-26 campaign.

Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last season after struggling defensively and failing to challenge for another league title.

Iraola has since taken charge and Liverpool have already strengthened his attacking options by signing Victor Munoz from Osasuna.

However, the club remain active in the market and have identified several potential additions before the September 1 deadline.

Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh has emerged as one of their main targets despite currently recovering from a leg injury.

Liverpool recently submitted a £50 million offer for the 22-year-old, but Brighton rejected their opening proposal.

The Reds could return with an improved bid, while Minteh is believed to be interested in making the switch to Anfield.

Liverpool are simultaneously examining other possibilities as they look to strengthen Iraola’s attacking options.

According to The Times, Liverpool have also contacted Real Madrid to enquire about the availability of Brazilian forward Endrick.

The 20-year-old struggled for regular opportunities in Madrid and spent much of last season on loan with Lyon.

Competition for places has increased further following Real Madrid’s signing of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.

However, Liverpool face a significant obstacle because Real Madrid currently have no intention of allowing Endrick to leave.

The Brazilian also wants to remain in Spain and fight for opportunities rather than seek another transfer this summer.

Liverpool therefore face uncertainty over both attacking pursuits as the closing stages of the window approach.

Bradley Barcola also remains Liverpool’s leading target for the opposite flank, although Paris Saint-Germain initially valued him at £145 million.

Liverpool begin their Premier League campaign away against Newcastle United on Sunday as their search for another attacker continues.
