Liverpool are continuing their search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season. The Reds want to strengthen their squad after a disappointing defence of their Premier League title during the 2025/26 campaign.

Andoni Iraola has now taken charge at Anfield and is working with club officials on several transfer targets. One priority remains the forward line.

Liverpool are still adjusting to life after Mohamed Salah’s departure. As a result, the club continue to assess a number of wide attacking options.

One player who has caught their attention is RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. According to talkSPORT, Liverpool remain keen on signing the highly-rated teenager.

The interest comes after an eye-catching start to the 2026 World Cup. Diomande produced a man-of-the-match performance as Ivory Coast defeated Ecuador 1-0 in their Group E opener.

The display only strengthened Liverpool’s belief in the youngster’s potential. The 19-year-old has already established himself as one of the most exciting young attackers in world football.

He joined RB Leipzig from Leganes last summer and enjoyed an excellent first season in Germany. Diomande contributed 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

His performances have attracted attention from across Europe. Liverpool identified him as a possible successor to Salah earlier this year.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also monitored his progress. However, Liverpool remain determined to win the race for his signature.

Any deal would require a major financial commitment. RB Leipzig reportedly value the winger at well over £100M.

Diomande is not the only World Cup performer on Liverpool’s shortlist. The Reds have also held talks over Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The Morocco international impressed during his country’s 1-1 draw with Brazil. Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola remains another player under consideration.
