Liverpool set clear price as Al-Hilal target star forward

At times explosive and unplayable, at others frustrating in front of goal, he has still managed to rack up 25 goals and 13 assists in just under 50 starts.

As the summer window slowly picks up pace, Liverpool have sent out a clear message to any club eyeing their number nine: do not even bother calling without serious money on the table.

This stance comes as clubs from the Saudi Pro League, particularly one of its wealthiest, prepare another big move.

With offers expected to arrive soon, Liverpool have decided to draw their line in the sand early.

The club’s sporting leadership, now led by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, is not interested in negotiation games. They want value for investment; nothing less.

The forward in question has long divided opinion at Anfield.

At times explosive and unplayable, at others frustrating in front of goal, he has still managed to rack up 25 goals and 13 assists in just under 50 starts.

It is a return that, while inconsistent, remains highly attractive, especially for a market like Saudi Arabia, where immediate attacking firepower is prized.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool already turned down a €70 million bid from Al Nassr in January.

Now, with renewed interest from Al Hilal, the Premier League side have placed a new valuation: €80 million or nothing.

The player himself is believed to be open to a move if the conditions suit him. With a potential salary hike and the chance to lead a project abroad, he is not closing the door.

And at Liverpool, there is also a sense that a sale might unlock opportunities to refresh the attack under Arne Slot’s watch.

With European clubs unlikely to match such sums, it seems the next chapter could come from a league rising in ambition and spending power.

The striker at the centre of it all is Darwin Nunez. The Uruguayan is expected to leave Liverpool this summer.

Now, it will be interesting to see whether Al-Hilal or any other club would be ready to offer €80 million for a proven goal scorer like Darwin Nunez.
