Liverpool could revisit one of their previous attacking targets after learning about a significant release clause which becomes active next summer.
Andoni Iraola’s side strengthened their attack considerably during the latest transfer window following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
Bradley Barcola arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in a £123 million deal, while Victor Munoz joined from Osasuna for £34.5 million.
Liverpool have since collected five points from their opening three Premier League fixtures under Iraola.
They drew 2-2 against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest before securing a 2-0 victory at Ipswich Town.
However, Liverpool could make further attacking additions in the future after previously considering another Premier League forward.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Bournemouth forward Rayan has a £130 million release clause which becomes active next summer.
The 20-year-old was already linked with Liverpool during the summer transfer window before ultimately remaining with Bournemouth.
Additionally, Iraola reportedly is a major admirer of Rayan following their time together at Bournemouth.
The Brazilian can operate across several attacking positions, potentially giving Liverpool another option as they continue reshaping their forward line.
However, the latest information does not indicate that Liverpool have opened negotiations or decided to activate his release clause.
Instead, Ornstein’s update establishes the financial terms that could become relevant if the Reds renew their interest next summer.
Liverpool invested heavily during the recent window, with Barcola becoming their most expensive arrival among the players added this summer.
Defender Jeremy Jacquet also joined from Rennes for £60 million, while Ronald Araujo arrived on loan from Barcelona.
Rayan therefore remains a possible future option rather than an advanced Liverpool transfer at this stage.
His £130 million clause could provide a clear route to a deal from next summer if Liverpool decide to return for the Bournemouth forward.
