According to MailOnline, Liverpool have held talks over a potential £84m transfer for Eintract Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The Frenchman, who has also been linked with Chelsea this summer, has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga this season for Frankfurt.
It’s been a real breakthrough season for Ekitike, who looks to have the world at his feet following a string of impressive performances in the Bundesliga and Europa League this season.
With Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota all linked with moves away from Merseyside this summer, Liverpool’s forward line may need serious refreshing.
It would come as a major blow to their rivals, many of whom are chasing a number 9 this summer.
Liverpool will be the team to beat next season, and adding Hugo Ekitike will be a serious addition to an already star-studded squad.
