Liverpool want to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger alongside Bradley Barcola

Discussions between the clubs continue, and the situation is expected to become clearer in the coming days.

Liverpool continue reshaping their attack ahead of the new Premier League season, with Andoni Iraola determined to add more pace and depth following Mohamed Salah’s departure.

The Reds have already identified Bradley Barcola as their priority target. However, they are now exploring a second deal with the French champions as they look to strengthen both flanks.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are considering a move for Ibrahim Mbaye alongside their pursuit of Bradley Barcola.

The 18-year-old winger has emerged as another option as the club assesses ways to refresh its attacking options.

Mbaye impressed for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup and has attracted interest from several clubs this summer.

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur previously explored a deal, while Bayer Leverkusen have made the strongest progress so far.

Liverpool now remain in the picture. The report states that the club are evaluating whether to approach PSG for both Mbaye and Barcola.

Mbaye operates naturally from the right wing and could help replace Salah, while Barcola is more comfortable on the left.

Any deal could prove expensive. Paris Saint-Germain would likely demand more than £150 million if Liverpool attempt to sign both players.

Discussions between the clubs continue, and the situation is expected to become clearer in the coming days.

Mbaye joined PSG in 2018 and has already made 33 senior appearances, scoring four goals. He represented France at youth level before switching his international allegiance to Senegal in 2025.

The teenager became the youngest African goalscorer in World Cup history after finding the net against France during the 2026 tournament.

Meanwhile, Liverpool remain firm over Cody Gakpo’s future despite interest from Tottenham. Spurs have made their interest known, but Liverpool have no plans to sell the Netherlands international.

Gakpo remains under contract until 2030, and the club value him highly despite his quieter campaign last season.
