Manchester City are once again very active in January. Last year, they signed Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, and Abdukodir Khusanov.
This year, they have already signed Antoine Semenyo. Their next target is Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. The Citizens are already making giant strides to secure the England international.
However, it looks like City will stop by signing Semenyo and Guehi (if they do). They are also looking to sign a right-back in January.
Since Kyle Walker left for Burnley, Manchester City are looking to find a replacement. Now, it looks like they have found the ideal replacement in Serie A.
However, they are not the only club looking to approach the player. Also, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are monitoring his situation.
According to TEAMtalk, a large number of Premier League are looking to make a move for Roma right-back Wesley Franca.
Under Gian Piero Gasperini, Wesley has made 17 Serie A appearances this season. During that spell, he has scored three goals and helped keep five clean sheets.
He is playing an important role as Roma push for a top-four finish in Serie A. Wesley remains under contract in Rome until 2030.
Roma are looking at a fee of around £30 million for the right-back. However, they are not actively looking to sell.
But I Giallorossi could be open to a deal if it allows them to fund reinforcements elsewhere in the squad.
Primarily a right-back, Wesley has also been deployed as a right wing-back and even on the left flank in Gasperini’s system.
Now, Tottenham’s interest is not new. The North London club had been tracking Wesley even before his move to AS Roma, and his development in Serie A has only strengthened their admiration.
Newcastle United are also keeping close tabs on the Brazilian, viewing him as a long-term option to bolster their defensive depth.
So, it will be interesting to see which Premier League club finally make the first move for the right-back.
