The 2025/26 Premier League season is about to start, and Manchester City has a decision to make about one of their key forwards.
Savinho is getting linked with Tottenham Hotspur. The Spurs have already held talks with the Citizens for a potential move.
The 21-year-old played 48 games for Pep Guardiola’s team and managed to score only 3 goals, along with 13 assists.
After the departure of Son Heung-min, the Spurs are looking for a replacement. Now, replacing a figure like Son is not an easy task.
Tottenham has already signed Mohamed Kudus from West Ham United, who could replace him. But their new manager, Thomas Frank, wants squad depth.
The former Brentford manager wants the Spurs to challenge for all the trophies. Also, they will be playing in the Champions League.
So, having a large squad will help the Spurs to get through the season and perform at their best.
However, according to Ben Jacobs, Pep Guardiola wants to keep Savinho. However, Pep has a policy. He will only keep players who are willing to play for him.
In case Manchester City have to sell Savinho, they will demand around £45 million. Spurs don’t have a problem paying that amount for the Brazilian.
Now, City will only be open to selling Savinho in case the 21-year-old decides to leave the club. This is the decision Manchester City have made about the Savinho to Tottenham transfer deal.
So, the ball is the player’s court now, and the Citizens would prefer to keep the winger at the club this season.
Spurs have held talks with Manchester City over Savinho, as @FabrizioRomano and @MatteMoretto called. Deal possible, but could cost over £45m.#MCFC will only sanction a sale if Savinho asks to leave as the club preference is to keep.🇧🇷 pic.twitter.com/RR3MjmZP6B
