Manchester City are facing another important decision during the summer transfer window as they continue reshaping the squad under Enzo Maresca.
The club have already completed several changes ahead of the new season. Elliot Anderson has arrived in a club-record deal, while Jeremy Monga has also joined to add further depth.
At the same time, Bernardo Silva and John Stones have departed, with James Trafford also closing in on a move away. Manchester City are also dealing with uncertainty surrounding Rodri’s future.
The Spain international continues to attract strong interest from Real Madrid, prompting the club to identify Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi as a potential long-term replacement.
However, Rodri is not the only first-team player whose future remains uncertain. Savinho struggled for regular playing time during the 2025/26 season.
The Brazilian made 24 Premier League appearances but started only seven matches, finishing the campaign with one goal and one assist.
Now, Fabrizio Romano reports that Savinho has informed Manchester City that he wants to leave the club this summer in search of more playing time and to continue his development.
The report states that the decision is now entirely in Manchester City’s hands. Despite the player’s request, the club must decide whether to approve a departure during the current transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur continue to monitor the situation closely. Romano adds that the London club have kept Savinho at the top of their shortlist since May.
Earlier reports suggested Tottenham were in discussions over a deal worth between £60M and £65M. However, negotiations have yet to produce an agreement. Manchester City have also been reluctant to sanction a sale.
Savinho has now made his position clear. The next move depends on whether Manchester City decide to grant his transfer request before the window closes.
