His father scored goals for England.
His sons have also been developing at one of England’s greatest football factories for the past decade.
And now, Reigan Heskey is leaving Manchester City.
Not on loan, but permanently.
To the Bundesliga.
Reigan Heskey completes permanent Manchester City exit with move to FC Koln
According to The Secret Scout, Heskey is set to complete a permanent move to FC Koln, with journalist Florian Plettenberg confirming the deal is worth €2 million and that the 18-year-old has already completed his medical ahead of signing a contract until 2030.
An announcement is expected shortly.
What started as loan interest has become something more significant.
Heskey joined Manchester City’s academy at the age of eight, spending a full decade working through every youth level the club offers and progressing all the way to the Elite Development Squad.
He made his senior debut in the EFL Cup last season.
Where he was included in City’s Premier League squad on several occasions.
He scored seven goals and provided seven assists in 19 Under-21 appearances last season alone.
Their squad planners Thomas Kessler and Tim Steidten beat several rival clubs to his signature.
Brighton were among those monitoring the situation.
However, FC Koln got the deal done.
This is not the first time they’ve moved for Manchester City youth.
They turned Jahmai Simpson-Pusey’s loan into a permanent deal for €6 million.
And have clearly established a productive working relationship with the Etihad club’s development pathway.
Reigan Heskey represents the next chapter of that connection.
And at 18, Reigan goes to Germany to write his own story.
