In his coaching career, Pep Guardiola has managed to produce two Ballon d’Or winners: Lionel Messi and Rodri.
Also, Rodri is the first-ever Ballon d’Or winner from Manchester City. It is an achievement to be proud of for Rodri.
However, since winning the prestigious award, the Spaniard has been suffering from injuries after injuries.
The 29-year-old has been the mainstay of City’s midfield and no one can forget his contribution during their history Treble win in the 2022-23 season.
That is why replacing Rodri will be a tough call for Manchester City. But they have Pep Guardiola, who is the master of bringing the best out of players.
Also, Guardiola knows when to replace a player. Rodri is continuously suffering from injuries. That is why he is seldom available for the 10-time league champions.
According to Football Insider, Manchester City are now creating a secret plan to replace Rodri. The Spaniard’s contribution to City’s recent success is unforgettable.
However, Pep Guardiola is always looking at the future. And just like last season, City are struggling this season due to his unavailability in most games.
Guardiola has already replaced Kevin De Bruyne. Also, Pep thought that Tijjani Reijnders could replace Rodri, and that is why he signed the Dutchman from AC Milan.
However, Aston Villa completely exposed his flaws in City’s recent loss at Villa Park. That is why Pep is moving back to the transfer market to find the ideal successor for Rodri.
As per the same report, Pep Guardiola is now eyeing a move for PSG’s Joao Neves. The Portuguese is tipped to be the ideal replacement for Rodri.
Neves played a crucial role in PSG’s midfield along with Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha to help the Parisians win their first-ever Champions League last season.
Also, this season, Neves has already registered a hat-trick. Pep Guardiola is very much impressed with him and would love to have him at the Etihad to replace Rodri.
