Manchester United continue to assess left-back options after failing to add another senior player in that position during the summer.
Michael Carrick’s side strengthened several areas before the transfer deadline, particularly midfield and attack.
Carlos Baleba arrived from Brighton for £70 million, while Andrey Santos joined from Chelsea for £50 million.
United also signed Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for £35 million and Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for £66.4 million.
However, the club did not secure another senior left-back to provide competition for Luke Shaw.
Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall has been among the players linked with United as they consider future options for the position.
Another Premier League player has now emerged as a possible alternative ahead of next summer.
During a Q&A with The Athletic, David Ornstein identified Bournemouth left-back Adrien Truffert as a player who could attract interest from bigger clubs.
Ornstein did not report concrete Manchester United interest in the 24-year-old. However, he noted that United discussed left-backs during the summer and could revisit the position.
Truffert has established himself at Bournemouth and could become available after the current season.
Bournemouth are not looking to move players on during this campaign, according to Ornstein. However, the situation could change next summer.
The journalist also reported a valuation of around £60 million for Truffert, with a potential deal possible during that window.
United have collected four points from their opening three Premier League fixtures under Carrick.
They lost 2–0 to Hull City before responding with a 5–2 victory against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils conceded a last-minute equalizer to share points against Everton in a 2–2 draw.
For now, there is no indication that United have opened talks with Bournemouth or made an approach for Truffert.
