After a successful season last year where they won the domestic treble, Barcelona are now looking for European success.
Barcelona suffered a heartbreaking loss to Inter Milan in extra time of the Champions League.
However, Hansi Flick wants to build a side that can bring home the Champions League this year. But the financial struggles of Barcelona are still going on.
That is why they failed to sign Nico Williams. The Athletic Club star was ready to join Lamine Yamal at Camp Nou.
But, Barcelona could not guarantee that he would be registered as a Barca player before the start of the season.
The Spanish international wanted this as a guarantee in his contract. So, the deal was stalled, and Nico Williams signed a contract with Athletic Bilbao that will keep him at the club until 2035.
But, Barcelona moved on from that failure and signed Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on loan. The winger was keen on a move to Camp Nou.
The English star has already scored for Barcelona in a preseason game. But the problems for Barcelona do not end there.
They need to sell some of their players to free up funds that they can invest. Now, after a successful season, many clubs across Europe are looking to make a move for Barcelona players.
Napoli had a very successful season last year when they won the Scudetto. This season, they are very active in the transfer market.
They have already signed Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City on a free transfer. Now, they are looking to add another midfielder who can play alongside De Bruyne and McTominay.
According to Fichajes, Napoli have placed a €70 million offer for Barcelona star Gavi. However, Barcelona are not ready to accept that as the Blaugrana are expecting a price of around €80 million to €90 million.
So, the next couple of weeks will clearly indicate whether Napoli are willing to make a better offer or stop after Barca rejected their first offer.
