Newcastle United are having a forgettable summer transfer window. They have tried to sign multiple players. However, a large majority of their targets rejected them.
The latest player to reject Newcastle and join their rival is Benjamin Sesko, who joined Manchester United. Also, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha did the same.
Players like Hugo Ekitike and Liam Delap chose Liverpool and Chelsea, respectively. That is why this transfer window has been a frustrating one for the Magpies.
Also, losing Paul Mitchell at the beginning of the window did not help them either. And, they could be set to lose their biggest star player in recent times.
Alexander Isak is urging a move to Liverpool. The Premier League champions have agreed on personal terms with the striker.
Also, they have placed a British-record-breaking bid, which Newcastle rejected outright as the Magpies are reluctant to sell their star man.
However, it looks like Isak is not ready to stay at Newcastle this season, and that is why he is not featuring in preseason games. Also, he is not training with the Newcastle squad.
Now, Newcastle need to look for a replacement even before Isak leaves because the time is running out for the Magpies, and they will be playing in the Champions League.
That is why, according to Eduardo Burgos, Newcastle United are eyeing a move for Samu Aghehowa. The FC Porto striker is one of the names on the striker shortlist.
As revealed earlier, Newcastle have concrete interest in Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson. But now, they will face competition for the player from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Samu Aghehowa was a Chelsea target before, who was very close to moving to the Premier League.
It will be interesting to see whether Newcastle can finally bring him to England or not. FC Porto will ask for €80 million for the striker.
El Newcastle maneja varios perfiles para la delantera tras el bajón de Sesko.
Como avanzamos, Samu Aghehowa es uno de ellos. No han habido avances en los últimos días. El Porto solo venderá por 80M€.
