After qualifying for the Champions League and winning the Carabao Cup, Newcastle United thought they would have a great transfer window.

They needed to have a great transfer window so that they could go deep into the Champions League and finish inside the top 4 in the Premier League.

But, apart from Antonio Cordero and Anthony Elanga, Newcastle have struggled in the transfer market so far.

Also, the untimely departure of Paul Mitchell did not help the Magpies either. They have targeted multiple players this season.

However, each time, they failed to land their target. It all started with Liam Delap.

The former Ipswich Town striker was heavily linked with Newcastle. However, he chose Chelsea over Newcastle.

After that, Newcastle United wanted to sign Joao Pedro. However, the Brazilian once again chose Chelsea over Newcastle.

Also, the rumours of Alexander Isak leaving Newcastle were spreading fast, with Liverpool leading the chase.

So, Newcastle buckled up and targeted Hugo Ekitike while Liverpool explored a move for Isak.

The Magpies outright rejected Isak’s move as they told Liverpool the Swede is not for sale.

Thus, Liverpool went and signed Ekitike, who chose Liverpool over Newcastle.

Now, Eddie Howe wants to bring in Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. However, Manchester United are also eyeing a move. The Red Devils will not feature in Europe next season.

Still, according to various sources, Sesko might prefer joining Manchester United to moving to St. James’ Park.

Now, Newcastle are desperate to bring in a forward as Isak is closer than ever to leaving the club.

According to The i Paper, Newcastle have added Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson to their list of forwards they are targeting.

In case Sesko ditches the Magpies, they will go after Nicolas Jackson. The Senegalese international is looking to leave Stamford Bridge because of the competition with the arrival of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.

So, it will be interesting to see whether Newcastle United place a bid for Nicolas Jackson or not in the coming weeks.
