It has been an eventful transfer window for Nottingham Forest.

The club saw winger Anthony Elanga depart for Newcastle United as they earned €124.4 million in player sales, after an impressive season in 2024/25, where he recorded six goals and 11 assists in the Premier League.

To counteract their collective of player departures, Forest have signed Dan Ndoye from Bologna and Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town.

James McAtee also arrived at the City Ground from Manchester City amongst many others in a window where they have spent €174.9 million on transfers.

Forest will need all the extra squad members that they can this season as they look ahead to a European campaign, as they learned their UEFA Europa League opponents this week.

After initially finishing in the UEFA Conference League places, Crystal Palace’s ownership issues saw them demoted from the Europa League and Forest take their place.

Forest will take on Porto, Real Betis, Ferencvaros, Braga, FC Midtjylland, Sturm Graz, Malmo and Utrecht in their first European campaign since the UEFA Cup in 1995/96.

A good run in Europe will help rebuild the relationship between Forest manager Nuno Espírito Santo and owner Evangelos Marinakis after some very public struggles.

They have now confirmed the signing of one defender that could help the strength of their depth with more games to contend with this season, for a part of their team that was very reliable for large parts of last season.
