Manchester City are interested in signing Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG. Last season, there were doubts over the future of Ederson.
However, the Brazilian stayed at the club. But this season, things have changed. Pep Guardiola is not counting on Ederson to stand between the sticks for the Citizens.
Last season, Stefan Ortega also played a crucial role for City. However, this season, the Citizens have already re-signed James Trafford from Burnley.
In the first two games of the new Premier League season, Trafford started both games. Ederson was on the bench for the second game at the Etihad.
Trafford impressed everyone during his first outing against Wolves. However, his second outing against Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad cast doubts over his selection.
Now, with Gianluigi Donnarumma available after falling out with his current club PSG, Manchester City don’t want to waste time signing one of the best goalkeepers of the modern era.
However, if they sign Donnarumma now, City will have four goalkeepers all capable of being the No.1.
That is why Manchester City are looking to part ways with Ederson before signing Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Ederson is already linked with a move away from Manchester City, as Turkish club Galatasaray are targeting the shot stopper.
Meanwhile, according to Fabrizio Romano, PSG have already reduced the asking price for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Initially, the French club wanted €50 million for the Italian. However, now, a fee of around €30/35 million would be enough to get this deal over the line.
Once Ederson leaves for Galatasaray, Manchester City will press ahead to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, as they already agreed on personal terms with the Italian.

Fee would be €30/35m as PSG reduce initial €50m request… and Gigio is ready to join #MCFC project.
It all depends on Éderson exit with Galatasaray in talks, as always mentioned. pic.twitter.com/d8EgP21sLC
