As the summer transfer window gathers pace, two of Europe’s biggest clubs have locked horns in pursuit of a player many believe could become the next great talent out of South America.
Both clubs are building for the future, aiming to secure long-term success with players who can carry the team for years to come.
But this time, their paths have collided and the tug-of-war is showing no signs of slowing down.
On one side stands a club that has dominated Europe for years, known for turning young prospects into global icons.
On the other, a team that has finally claimed Champions League glory and is willing to invest heavily in the right profile to keep their European supremacy.
According to Fabrizio Romano, talks have been ongoing for days. One club, Paris Saint-Germain, have moved quickly, already in advanced discussions with all sides involved.
But while they are clearly ahead in terms of negotiations, a final agreement has yet to be reached.
The other suitor, Real Madrid, are not sitting back either.
After an initial pause, they have reopened communication with the player’s representatives and are now working behind the scenes to prepare their own move.
So far, no documents have been signed. Both clubs remain hopeful. Both believe the player will choose them.
And the name at the centre of this transatlantic battle is Franco Mastantuono.
At just 17 years old, the Argentine wonderkid has already shown incredible potential in his breakout season.
Comfortable in midfield, composed under pressure, and bursting with creativity, he has quickly become one of the most watched young talents in world football.
The coming weeks will be crucial. Whether it is the historic pull of Real Madrid or the project offered by PSG, the next step of Franco Mastantuono will be one of the most talked-about moves of the summer.
