Real Madrid could target Premier League winner next summer

Previously, Madrid wanted to sign Rodri from Manchester City.

Xabi Alonso, Florentino Perez

Real Madrid have made a fantastic start to their La Liga campaign. The Los Blancos are unbeaten so far. But they are already planning for next season. And the midfield remains a focus.

The club wants to bring in a player who can add control and balance. A recent report claims the target is already playing a key role in England.

According to Fichajes, the player is now at the top of Xabi Alonso’s wish list.

Xabi Alonso took over at Real Madrid this summer. After his time at Bayer Leverkusen, the Spanish coach is shaping a new identity at the Bernabeu.

Alonso wants to strengthen the midfield. He sees one name as the missing link. The player is already a starter for one of England’s biggest clubs.

Previously, Madrid wanted to sign Rodri from Manchester City. However, it seems like signing Rodri could remain a dream for Florentino Perez.

That is why Perez is looking to bring in another midfielder from England who has become pivotal for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

In fact, the player won the Premier League last season. He has also lifted the EFL Cup. Now, Alonso wants Alexis Mac Allister in Madrid.

The Argentine midfielder joined Liverpool from Brighton in 2023 for £35 million.

Mac Allister has played over 100 games for the club. He has scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions.

Last season, he was a key figure in Liverpool’s title win. The Argentine has also made six appearances so far this season under Arne Slot.

Transfer News Live has reported previously that Real Madrid have already tested the waters. The club submitted an offer close to €120 million.

Still, Real Madrid are watching. And with a huge offer already tested, the story may only be beginning.
