Real Madrid are entering a new era after a disappointing 2025-26 campaign. Los Blancos failed to win a trophy for the second straight season before replacing Alvaro Arbeloa with Jose Mourinho.
Florentino Perez has since backed the Portuguese coach with an ambitious summer rebuild. The club has already completed several major signings.
Bernardo Silva, Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries have all arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid also activated Nico Paz’s buy-back clause before selling him back to Como for a significant profit.
However, Mourinho’s rebuild is not over. Real Madrid continue searching for another creative midfielder, with Enzo Fernandez remaining the preferred option.
The club also wants another elite attacker amid uncertainty surrounding Vinicius Junior’s contract.
Michael Olise has become one of Europe’s most sought-after players after another outstanding season with Bayern Munich.
The France international has also carried that form into the World Cup, providing five assists in four matches.
According to El Nacional, Real Madrid have now made Olise their priority attacking target after failing to sign Julian Alvarez.
The report claims the Spanish giants are preparing an offer worth €180 million plus a further €33 million in performance-related bonuses. Bayern Munich have already made their position clear.
The Bundesliga champions reportedly rejected suggestions that an offer worth €160 million would change their stance and continue to consider Olise untouchable.
The report adds that Real Madrid are prepared to make significant sacrifices to finance such an expensive transfer.
Alvaro Carreras, Dean Huijsen and Eduardo Camavinga have all reportedly been placed on the market, with the club hoping to raise around €120 million through their sales.
If the proposed deal reaches its full value, Olise would become the second most expensive player in football history.
Only Neymar’s world-record transfer would remain ahead of the France international. Real Madrid remain determined to strengthen Mourinho’s attack.
However, convincing Bayern Munich to part with one of their most important players could prove to be the biggest challenge of the summer.
