Some mysteries don’t stay mysterious for long.
When Florentino Perez stood up this week and declared that Real Madrid were planning to submit a bid of at least €150 million for a superstar, the football world went into overdrive trying to identify the target.
The answer, according to sources close to Real Madrid, isn’t Michael Olise.
But instead, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Real Madrid’s mystery €150m Galactico is PSG superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
According to TEAMtalk, well-placed sources close to Real Madrid have identified Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the player at the centre of Perez’s ambitious declaration.
The Georgian winger has established himself as one of the finest attackers in world football since joining PSG from Napoli for €80 million in January 2025.
His contribution to PSG’s back-to-back Champions League triumphs has elevated him into the very highest bracket of European football.
And those inside the Bernabeu believe he fits every criteria Perez outlined.
And the price tag, at least €150 million, would be the largest in Real Madrid’s history.
The primary obstacle is formidable.
PSG are the European champions.
They have no financial pressure to sell.
And Kvaratskhelia is arguably their most irreplaceable player.
But Perez has stated publicly that the bid is going in on Tuesday.
What happens when that bid lands on Luis Campos’ desk at the Parc des Princes will define whether this summer produces one of the most seismic transfers in modern football.
The implications stretch further than just Kvaratskhelia.
His arrival at the Bernabeuwould immediately raise questions about Vinicius Junior’s future.
The Brazilian has just twelve months remaining on his contract.
Renewal talks have been ongoing without resolution.
And adding another elite left-sided attacker of Kvaratskhelia’s profile to the squad would intensify scrutiny on Vinicius’ position.
Potentially accelerating a decision about whether Real Madrid cash in on him rather than risk losing him for nothing in 2027.
