Real Madrid have no shortage of attacking talent.
Kylian Mbappe is there.
Vinicius Jr is there.
But another player shares the spotlight.
Yet, finding minutes has become just as difficult as finding goals.
His future in Madrid is no longer as straightforward as it once seemed.
Instead, fresh uncertainty has emerged.
Endrick looks to force loan move as he prioritises game time
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mourinho is still deciding whether Endrick should remain at Real Madrid this season, with Roma waiting to take advantage if the club become open to letting the striker leave.
That has created an opportunity.
One Roma have been monitoring for weeks.
The Italian club believe a deal could become possible if Real Madrid decide another loan would benefit the 20-year-old’s development.
Roma are not pushing for a permanent transfer.
Their preference is a loan.
Ideally with an option to buy and a buy-back clause in Real Madrid’s favour.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico has already travelled to Spain to understand Real Madrid’s position.
With Roma prepared to move quickly should the Spanish giants give the green light.
The interest is hardly surprising.
Endrick enjoyed an encouraging loan spell with Lyon last season.
He returned to Madrid with renewed confidence.
And after impressing for Brazil at the World Cup, many expected him to become a bigger part of Mourinho’s plans.
The problem is competition.
Real Madrid possess one of the strongest attacking squads in world football.
Regular starts are difficult to guarantee.
Even for one of the game’s brightest young forwards.
Gian Piero Gasperini is understood to be a long-term admirer.
The Serie A club believe regular football could unlock another level in the Brazilian’s game.
Keeping Endrick would provide valuable depth.
However, sending him out on loan could accelerate his development.
Both options have clear advantages.
The coming weeks will determine which path Mourinho chooses.
A move to Italy would also hand Endrick the chance to play regularly while continuing to compete at the highest level.
Including in the Champions League, should Roma secure qualification.
That opportunity could prove difficult to ignore.
