This Alexander Isak to Liverpool transfer saga is getting murkier as the transfer window approaches the final week.
The Swedish international is adamant that he will not play for Newcastle United ever again and has published an Instagram post revealing how Newcastle broke promises made to him.
Also, the Magpies, in response of Isak’s post, issued a statement clarifying the situation and telling everyone about the family culture at the club and how they would welcome Isak back if he was ready to play for them again.
Liverpool are also keeping an eye on the situation, and they know that if Newcastle budge from their stance, the Reds can pounce to get this Alexander Isak to Liverpool deal over the line.
However, Newcastle have maintained a firm stance on this deal. They are not ready to let Alexander Isak go this summer.
SkySports reporter Keith Downie has now revealed the real reason why Newcastle United have been blocking this Alexander Isak to Liverpool transfer from the beginning.
Newcastle United have found rejection in the transfer market from the start. After securing Champions League football, Newcastle thought they could easily convince star players to join them.
So, they are looking to find a replacement for Isak from the beginning. Benjamin Sesko, Hugo Ekitike, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, and Viktor Gyokeres all have rejected Newcastle this summer.
If Newcastle get the right price for Isak and a replacement in time, they will be ready to part ways with Isak.
Now, the only way for this Alexander Isak to Liverpool deal to get over the line is if Newcastle can sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford.
