The Alexander Isak transfer saga is heating up, and it is expected to be one of the most dramatic stories of this 2025 summer transfer window.
On the one hand, Newcastle United are not ready to sell. They have made their stance clear: Isak is not for sale. Also, they have placed a British record price tag on the Swedish international.
Newcastle board though that the price tag would drive any of the potential suitors of Isak away. So, it did work for Arsenal, who were interested to sign the 25-year-old initially.
Mikel Arteta signed Viktor Gyokeres instead, and they are happy with the striker they got.
However, the strongest contender to sign Isak this season is undoubtedly Liverpool. People are throwing the names of Manchester United and Chelsea, also.
But, the club that is looking most likely to sign the Swede is Liverpool. And, Alexander Isak is also dreaming of playing at Anfield.
Although Newcastle are trying to change the narrative publicly, but it looks like Alexander Isak has gone on a strike to force a move.
Isak loves the atmosphere at Anfield and enjoys playing there. That is why it looks like he could be heading to Merseyside.
Meanwhile, Liverpool were not the only contenders for Isak. Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal were also interested to sign the striker.
They offered the Swedish international perhaps the craziest deal any football can ever get.
REVEALED: Crazy Al-Hilal contract rejected by Alexander Isak
According to Mundo Deportivo, Alexander Isak was offered €35 million per season along with €16 million in bonuses.
As per the reports, these bonuses could have made Isak one of the richest footballers in the world. For each goal scored, Isak would have pocketed €34,000, and for each assist €21,000.
Last season, he scored 23 Premier League goals along with 6 assists. Now, you can count how much he would have earned if he replicated the same for Al-Hilal.
However, apart from goals, if the Saudi side won the league, he would earn €4 million each time. Also, if Al-Hilal wins the AFC Champions League, he would have earned €4.3 million each time.
On top of that, if he became the top scorer, he would have earned another €2 million. Also, he would have got €137,000 for his personal monthly expenses, a house, and a chauffeur.
But Isak rejected this opportunity to become one of the richest footballers in the world to join a club that would compete for the biggest prizes.
It will be interesting to see whether Alexander Isak has done the right thing or not as he looks for a club that will compete for major trophies.
Liverpool are leading this Alexander Isak transfer race for the time being. However, in football transfers, anything can happen.
