Saudi Pro League clubs have a habit of throwing big money at signing superstars for their league. Now, one of their clubs, Al-Ahli, have set their sights on Vinicius Junior.
A few years back, the Brazilian was the undisputed face of the Real Madrid project after Karim Benzema left for Al-Ittihad.
However, since Kylian Mbappe joined the club, Real Madrid have made the French superstar the face of their project.
Also, the French international is earning more than Vinicius. Now, the time had come to the Brazilian to negotiate a new deal as his existing deal would expire in 2027.
However, Real Madrid have refused to meet his demands. That is why the contract talks have been stalled for months.
Also, his relationship with the club had gone sour during the time of Xabi Alonso. But under Alvaro Arbeloa, things are moving in the right direction.
However, both Vinicius and Madrid haven’t reached an agreement regarding the new contract. Meanwhile, his representatives have kept in contact with Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli.
They have set their sights on making the Brazilian the next marquee signing for their league. And, according to Ben Jacobs, they are ready to offer Vinicius a €1 bn contract.
Both Vinicius and Real Madrid are now positively moving towards extending the contract. However, with such money on offer, the Brazilian will be giving a second thought on the Saudi offer.
As revealed last year, Saudi dealmakers eyeing up Vinicius Junior as one of their main targets for summer 2026.
Real still want the Brazilian to extend but talks put on hold when Xabi Alonso was at the club.
