Even though it is only August, Manchester United once again feel incredibly turbulent.

A rough start on the pitch, and plenty of concerns away from matchdays.

One of the talking points in the early stages of the season has been Kobbie Mainoo and his game time.

Or lack there of.

The 20-year old has been an unused sub in both of United’s two games to start the season.

You feel like a Carabao Cup second round tie against Grimsby Town will yield a start, but he’s going to need more than that.

According to reports, the midfielder wants a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Well, according to Mike Keegan of The Daily Mail, he has some high level suitors.

Earlier on today, he reported that both Real and Atletico Madrid are monitoring the current situation.

He states that a season long loan could be of interest, and that there are a host of English Premier League sides also watching the situation.

In his report, he says that although Mainoo is “open to remaining” at United, he wants first team football, and is open to a move to a Champions League side.

The current situation will be heartbreaking to United fans.

Seeing a player make such a rapid rise into the first team in the 23/24 season, just to perhaps leave the next year.

Even if it is just a loan.

Many have said that Mainoo simply does not fit Ruben Amorim’s system.

Well, if your system is better suited to Manuel Ugarte than Mainoo – perhaps your system isn’t good enough.

Especially one that doesn’t even average 1 ppg in the English Premier League.

Playing alongside Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid would be very exciting.

That too with Conor Gallagher at Atletico Madrid, should the 25-year old remain with Diego Simeone’s side.
