On Wednesday evening, Spurs suffered heartbreak in the UEFA Super Cup final.
Very few people expected them to win the final, but the circumstances were pretty brutal.
Still, once the dust settles, there will be many positives to take.
They played well for large periods against the Champions of Europe.
New signings like Mohamed Kudus and Joao Palhinha played brilliantly.
Thomas Frank will be hoping to add more new signings to those two this summer.
They have been linked heavily with Manchester City’s Savio, and there has been an update.
As per ge.globo.com, City have turned down a bid of around £60m for the Brazilian winger.
They report that a new offer will be formalised soon.
It was a mixed debut season at City for Savio. He scored just one league goal, but boasted good creative numbers.
At just 21, he clearly has potential, and can certainly improve his goalscoring.
He scored nine league goals as a teenager for Girona in the 23/24 season.
Plus, we’ve seen what Frank can do with forwards. We saw Bryan Mbeumo score 20 goals for him last season.
We saw the Cameroon international, Yoane Wissa and Kevin Schade score a combined 50 league goals last season.
So, you’d imagine he can get goals out of a very, very talented player in Savio too.
Despite his young age, he already has 13 caps for the Brazil national team, so it clear there are high hopes for him.
Perhaps a move to Spurs is what is best for his development.
In a World Cup year, he will want that guarantee of regular starts, which feels more likely in North London.
