Some clubs don’t stop.
They sign one superstar and immediately look for the next.
Trabzonspor have barely had time to process signing Mohamed Salah.
And already, they want Darwin Nunez.
Trabzonspor ramp up pressure to sign Darwin Nunez from Al-Hilal as club look to reunite former Liverpool teammates
According to Spor Depor, journalist Resat Can Ozbudak has reported that Trabzonspor “has increased its pressure regarding Darwin Nunez”, with the Turkish club now formally approaching Al-Hilal to explore a season-long loan deal for the 27-year-old Uruguayan striker.
A personal wage offer of between €7 million and €8 million net per season has already been put on the table.
The ambition is extraordinary.
Just 48 hours after confirming Mohamed Salah’s arrival from Liverpool on a two-year deal, Trabzonspor have set their sights on the man who played alongside him at Anfield for three years.
Salah and Nunez.
Together.
In the Super Lig.
The reunion nobody predicted.
Nunez’s situation at Al Hilal has been deeply frustrating.
He made just 24 appearances last season, none between February and May due to an eligibility issue created by the club exceeding their foreign player limit when Karim Benzema arrived from Al Ittihad.
He arrived at the World Cup with Uruguay short of match fitness.
The South American giants exited in the group stage.
A 27-year-old striker who joined one of the most high-profile clubs in the world ended up barely playing, and now needs a move that gives him back his career momentum.
Trabzonspor believe they can offer exactly that.
Emboldened by the Salah coup, backed by a president with enormous ambition and sitting third in the Super Lig after last season, who have made the most concrete move.

They’re going for it.
