Two Premier League clubs continue to monitor João Pedro

João Pedro looks all but likely to play in the Premier League next season, but for which team remains in question.

Brighton and Hove Albion striker João Pedro has impressed since arriving in England.

After 24 goals and eight assists for Watford, Pedro joined Brighton in June 2023 for a then club record fee of just under £30 million.

In 70 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 30 goals and recorded 10 assists for the Sussex based side.

This includes six goals in six games during Brighton’s first ever Europa League campaign in the 2023/24 season.

A red card against Brentford threatened to ruin Brighton’s season.

Two wins and a draw followed in his absence, and a further two wins occurred in the final two games.

Pedro missed these final two games after a training ground altercation with defender Jan Paul van Hecke.

His future appears to now be away from the South Coast, with plenty of top suitors waiting in the wings to acquire his services.

As the third top scorer last season, this would be a massive blow to Brighton.

This is despite the 11 goals scored by both Danny Welbeck and Kaoru Mitoma in 2024/25.

Just as history has proven, Brighton will most likely find a top replacement with the money gained from Pedro’s sale.

Two Premier League clubs continue to monitor João Pedro

It has been reported that Premier League clubs Chelsea and Newcastle United remain in the hunt to sign Pedro.

Newcastle have already seen a £50 million bid rejected, a sign that perhaps Alexander Isak’s future could be away from Tyneside.

Chelsea may have signed Liam Delap, but this will not stop them trying to sign Pedro.

Champions League Football would allow the chance for Pedro to play more games and his aforementioned experience in Europe can only be a good thing.

With a key eye for goal from the penalty spot, this would be a welcome addition to either Chelsea or Newcastle.
