Aston Villa are exploring a potential move for a Manchester City forward. The club are looking to strengthen their attack and believe the situation could present an opportunity.
The Villans were able to get three points from their weekend fixture against Nottingham Forest. Now, they are currently in the third place with the same points as Manchester City.
The goal difference is what making Unai Emery’s men sit at the third. Both City and Villa are six points behind Arsenal. So, Aston Villa are in a title race this season.
Unai Emery know that he needs to add some players to his squad to accelerate his title charge. That is why he has identified a Manchester City player as the ideal addition to his squad.
According to Dean Jones via TEAMtalk, Villa are seriously assessing a deal for Omar Marmoush. Tottenham Hotspur are also interested and have already made initial enquiries.
Villa have now entered the race. Internally, they believe Marmoush could add pace and unpredictability to their forward line.
The interest is linked to his current situation at Manchester City. He has struggled to secure regular Premier League starts under Pep Guardiola. Despite that, he remains highly rated.
Villa see this as a chance to offer a fresh platform. The belief is that the right environment could unlock his potential.
Jones notes that Villa Park has become a place where players have rebuilt momentum. He gave recent examples involving Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Harvey Elliott.
Villa feel the same approach could work again with Omar Marmoush. However, Manchester City are not keen on losing the player midway through the season.
Tottenham’s involvement has only strengthened that stance. City are also reluctant to sell to a direct rival.
For now, a January deal looks difficult. Manchester City prefer to keep their squad intact during the winter window.
Villa remain interested in Omar Marmoush, but timing could prove decisive for this move.
