West Ham United have made four signings so far this summer.

The club signed centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo for £32.8 million, making his loan move permanent.

Striker Daniel Cummings arrived from Scottish side Celtic on a free transfer, as did right-back Kyle Walker-Peters via Southampton.

Left-back El Hadji-Malick Diouf also joined the club for a fee of £19 million.

West Ham will hope these signings will help them improve on a disastrous 2024/25 season where they finished in 14th place.

This came two seasons after they were crowned UEFA Conference League winners, Jarrod Bowen’s goal securing the win in the final against Fiorentina in Prague.

The loss of Mohammed Kudus to fellow London club Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer will hurt the team, after he recorded 19 goals in two seasons across all competitions.

With £55 million earned from the sale to Spurs, the club will aim to invest this in the future squad.

The four aforementioned signings may have already been made with the sale of Kudus in mind.

Despite this, the club have one further signing in mind that they feel could help them rise back up the league table next season.

West Ham United plot move for Bundesliga midfielder

According to the Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg, West Ham United are planning a £13 million move for Werder Bremen’s Austrian midfielder Romano Schmid.

Schmid, 25, has been targeted by West Ham manager Graham Potter and would be their fifth signing of the summer.

Capped 25 times by his national team, he brings nine years of experience in professional football, spanning periods in Austria and Germany.

After West Ham’s struggles in the 2024/25 season, form that saw Julen Lopetegui lose his job as manager, Schmid will hope to help the club get back to winning ways.
