Yan Diomande enjoyed a remarkable breakthrough season with RB Leipzig. The 19-year-old winger scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances.
The Ivorian established himself as one of Europe’s brightest young talents. He also enhanced his reputation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
His performances attracted interest from several leading clubs before Real Madrid moved ahead in the race for his signature.
Real Madrid have already reached an agreement with RB Leipzig over a deal worth between €115 million and €135 million.
The winger has also agreed personal terms on a contract until June 2031 after Los Blancos moved ahead of Paris Saint-Germain.
However, the transfer has now encountered an unexpected obstacle before the paperwork can be completed.
According to MARCA, Yan Diomande’s transfer to Real Madrid has been delayed because of an ongoing legal dispute between his former agency, Maxidel Management, and his current representatives, Roc Nation.
The report states that Maxidel have filed a complaint with FIFA after accusing Roc Nation of breaching their agreement.
Real Madrid were reportedly unaware of the dispute while negotiating with Roc Nation. MARCA adds that the disagreement centres on representation rights and transfer commissions.
Maxidel claim they still hold Diomande’s rights until his departure from RB Leipzig. The report also reveals that the situation extends beyond those two agencies.
Former agent Dez Bamba and another company, Rainbow, remain involved in separate legal disputes linked to the player’s representation and image rights.
Real Madrid are now assessing several possible solutions. The club could negotiate separately with Maxidel, wait for an agreement between the agencies or rely on FIFA allowing a provisional registration while the legal process continues.
Despite the delay, Yan Diomande remains close to completing the move. The winger has stayed away from RB Leipzig’s pre-season activities while waiting for the transfer to receive final approval.
Real Madrid continue working towards completing one of the biggest deals of the summer transfer window.
