Igor Tudor snaps at Sky Sports reporter during post-match interview after Liverpool draw

Tottenham Hotspur manager Igor Tudor became involved in an awkward exchange with a Sky Sports reporter following Spurs’ dramatic draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

The result itself gave Tottenham a lifeline in their battle to avoid relegation. Spurs looked set for another defeat before Richarlison scored a late equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw.

The goal also ended a miserable run of form for Igor Tudor. The Spurs had lost four consecutive matches since the Croatian coach replaced Thomas Frank on an interim basis until the end of the season.

However, the post-match discussion quickly turned tense when Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison questioned Tudor about whether the result could give Spurs supporters hope of avoiding relegation.

Tudor responded sharply. He said:

“It’s enough with this. I always tell you what I think.”

Davison pushed further and asked whether questions about the club’s future needed to be addressed for the benefit of Tottenham fans.

That prompted another blunt response from the Spurs manager. Tudor asked:

“What questions need to be answered?”

Davison clarified that supporters would want clarity about the team’s future, the managerial situation and the possibility of staying in the Premier League.

Tudor immediately rejected the line of questioning. He said:

“That’s not a question for me. I’m the coach. You need to ask me about players, how we play.”

Davison pointed out that he had already asked those questions, but Tudor continued to show frustration. The Tottenham boss replied:

“And I’ve answered you, so it’s a question that doesn’t have sense.”

He then criticised the repeated nature of such questions during press interviews.

“When you ask the coach about their position, it doesn’t have sense. All the coaches will say the same things.

“But you always ask this so the coach needs to answer something because he’s obliged to come to this press conference.”

Davison attempted to steer the conversation back to the match by suggesting the performance could give fans hope. Tudor remained unimpressed. He responded:

“What kind of question is this? What do I need to tell you now?”

When Davison replied that Tudor could say whatever he wanted, the Croatian coach appeared to lose patience. He briefly looked away from the camera before asking:

“Have we finished or not?”

Davison confirmed the interview had ended, and Tudor walked away from the broadcast position.

Tottenham’s next game will be against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last 16 second leg at home where they have a mountain to climb as they are 5-2 down in the tie.
