Tottenham Hotspur have endured a difficult opening to the 2026–27 Premier League campaign under Roberto De Zerbi.
Spurs remain without a league victory after their opening six matches. They have collected just three points and currently sit inside the relegation zone.
Heavy summer investment has yet to deliver the expected improvement. Tottenham spent more than £300M while significantly reshaping De Zerbi’s squad.
Sandro Tonali, Savio and Omar Marmoush were among the major additions. However, substantial player turnover and tactical changes have contributed to an inconsistent start.
Tottenham showed greater resilience against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Solanke scored a stoppage-time equaliser despite Spurs playing with 10 men.
Their difficult start has now been accompanied by an unexpected financial issue involving one of the club’s commercial partners.
According to City AM, Tottenham Hotspur are owed £86,000 by Drip after the canned-water company entered voluntary liquidation with debts exceeding £9M.
Celebrity chef Big Zuu founded Drip in 2023. Tottenham announced a partnership with the company the following year.
The agreement made Drip the official front-of-training-wear partner of Tottenham’s women’s team. The partnership focused heavily on shared sustainability values.
However, Spurs may not be able to recover the £86,000 owed following the company’s collapse.
Drip had previously attracted significant investment and expanded into several commercial partnerships. Retailers including Morrisons and WH Smith stocked its products.
The company also became Matchroom Boxing’s official water partner. However, Matchroom does not appear among the creditors listed following the liquidation.
National League club Worthing FC have also been affected. Drip owes the club £14,000.
The development represents another unwanted issue for Tottenham during an already challenging period.
De Zerbi’s side must now focus on securing their first league victory when they host Coventry City.
