Tottenham Hotspur manager Igor Tudor charged by FA

Breaking News - Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur manager Igor Tudor has been charged by the FA following his comments about referee Thomas Bramall.

The charge relates to remarks made after Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage on March 1. Tudor criticised the officiating during his post-match interview. He said:

“I didn’t like the referee today, too much of a home team referee. I didn’t feel well with him.

“All the decisions were on their side. He doesn’t understand football, the feeling of what is wrong and what is right.”

As a result, the FA have acted. In their statement, they confirmed that Tudor has been charged with misconduct for “allegedly acting in an improper manner during a post-match interview.”

According to the FA, Tudor made “comments that imply bias and/or question integrity and/or are personally offensive in relation to a match official.”

So, the process is now underway. Tudor has until March 23 to respond to the charge. After that, the case will move to a Regulatory Commission, which will decide any punishment.

There are no fixed sanctions for this type of offence. That means the outcome can vary. It could result in a fine, a warning, or potentially a touchline ban, depending on the decision.

Now, recent cases can offer some context. Rodri was fined £80,000 earlier this season for similar comments after a match involving Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho previously received a one-match stadium ban for remarks about officials during his time at Chelsea. So, Igor Tudor could face a similar outcome.

For now, Tottenham’s focus remains on the pitch. They are preparing for a key Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest before facing Sunderland in their next fixture.
