The 2026 World Cup is getting closer and the excitement is building across the football world. However, there is growing concern behind the scenes.

Several issues have already sparked debate. From security presence to travel restrictions, questions continue to rise.

Also, the political climate in the United States has added another layer of uncertainty. That is why many fans and officials remain uneasy.

Now, a new development has raised even more concern. It could directly affect both supporters and players traveling for the tournament.

Reports suggest that new visa-related rules could come into effect. These changes would impact visitors from multiple countries.

So, this is not a minor adjustment. It could affect a significant number of people planning to attend the World Cup.

According to The Athletic, around 50 countries fall under these changes. Interestingly, five of them have already qualified for the tournament.

Also, the policy is already active for some nations. Countries like Algeria, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Cape Verde will fall under these changes along with Tunisia.

The rule focuses on travellers using B-1 and B-2 visas. These are commonly used for business and tourism visits.

Under this system, visitors may need to pay a bond before entering the United States. The amount could reach as high as $15,000.

However, the money is not necessarily lost. If travellers leave within the visa terms, they will usually get a refund.

Also, if they decide not to travel, they can still return the bond. But the upfront cost remains a major concern.

There is still uncertainty around exemptions. At this stage, nothing suggests that players or officials will receive special treatment.

So, even World Cup stars could be affected by this rule. There is also no waiver system in place. That makes the policy even stricter.
