Chelsea are going through a tough phase in their season. They are already out of the Champions League and are fighting for a place in the top European competition next season.
Now, the Blues are behind Liverpool at the fifth place by four points with six matches to go. Next year, there will be five teams participating in Europe’s elite club competition.
However, there are rumours that multiple Chelsea players could leave the club next summer. And one of those big names could be Enzo Fernandez.
Recently, the Argentine has dropped a transfer bombshell. And for that, Chelsea had to ban him. So, there is friction between Chelsea and Enzo Fernandez.
Even after that, the Blues were ready to discuss a new deal with the Argentine. But things are now moving towards a possible exit next summer.
However, his partner in midfield, Moises Caicedo, is now close to renewing his contract with Chelsea until 2033, according to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo.
Securing Caicedo will be a massive boost for the Blues ahead of the summer transfer window. There would have been several clubs queuing up for the Ecuadorian midfielder.
The 24-year-old joined Chelsea in 2023 from Brighton on an 8-year deal. His old deal was due to expire in 2031. So, he has agreed on a two-year extension on his old deal with better terms.
So far for the Blues, Caicedo has made 140 appearances and in 2024/25 season, he was Chelsea’s player of the season.
