Chelsea are going through a difficult phase at the moment. Results have not gone their way in recent weeks.
Now, Enzo Fernandez is at the centre of attention during the international break. Also, his recent comments have raised fresh questions about his future at Chelsea
Apart from that, Liam Rosenior is already under pressure. The Blues have lost their last four matches before the break.
So, the situation is not ideal heading into the final stretch of the season. Chelsea are currently outside the Champions League places.
With only a few games left, every result will be crucial. That is why the focus should be fully on performances.
However, things have taken a different turn, as the recent interview with Enzo Fernandez has shifted attention away from the pitch.
According to an X account @SpiderCarp23 (via Fabrizio Romano), Enzo Fernandez was asked about life outside London. His answer was direct. He said:
“I’d like to live in Madrid. It’s a beautiful city, it reminds me of Buenos Aires.”
So, that comment has immediately sparked speculation. Madrid is home to some of the biggest clubs in world football.
Also, when he was asked about which clubs he would like to play for, he refused to answer with a smile on his face.
That has only added more intrigue. Real Madrid have shown an interest in Enzo Fernandez before.
This is not the first time he has spoken about his future. After the Champions League defeat to PSG, he admitted that nothing is decided yet. He told ESPN Argentina:
“I don’t know. My focus is here for now. We have eight Premier League matches to play and the FA Cup. Then, the World Cup coming up so we’ll see after that.”
So, while his focus remains on Chelsea for now, there is still uncertainty around what comes next.
