Cesc Fabregas has made it clear that he wants to manage in the Premier League one day.

The former Chelsea midfielder has openly spoken about his ambitions as he continues to build his managerial career. The Premier League remains the ultimate destination for many coaches.

Fabregas is no different. However, his approach to management could create complications, especially for clubs like Chelsea.

Since BlueCo took over at Stamford Bridge, their structure has been very clear.

They prefer head coaches who focus on training and tactics while leaving key footballing decisions to their sporting directors. That model has shaped several recent decisions.

Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart currently lead Chelsea’s recruitment and planning. They play a major role in transfers and long-term strategy.

Because of that, managers at the club have limited control. This structure has already caused issues in the past.

Both Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca reportedly struggled with the setup during their time at the club.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are once again searching for a new manager after sacking Liam Rosenior.

His short spell came to an end just 104 days into his long-term contract following a poor run of results.

But according to The Telegraph, Fabregas has now made his stance very clear regarding a potential move, and it may not align with Chelsea’s current model. Speaking about his future, he said:

“The Premier League is the best league in the world, I’ve always been very, very clear about it. I felt it as a player, I feel it as a coach, as a fan.”

However, he also added that having control is crucial for him. He stressed that it is “really important” to have full authority over footballing decisions.

Cesc Fabregas also refused to commit to any timeline for a move. He said:

“Mourinho told me one day when I was at Chelsea ‘I still have 30 years to work’

“So I could be here [Como] for 10 years, and you can still go to the Premier League in 12, 15 years.”

Despite links with Chelsea, his comments suggest that any move is far from straightforward.
