FIFA lifts ban making England fans delighted at World Cup

FIFA confirmed a major change for the tournament.

England fans heading to the World Cup

England fans heading to the World Cup this summer have received a huge boost after FIFA confirmed a major change for the tournament.

Supporters travelling to the United States, Canada and Mexico will now be allowed to drink alcohol inside stadium seats during matches, as per The Sun.

That decision marks a huge contrast from the previous World Cup in Qatar, where organisers dramatically banned alcohol sales inside stadiums just days before the tournament started.

The sudden restriction frustrated thousands of travelling supporters back in 2022. However, this summer’s tournament will look completely different.

Authorities across the three host nations confirmed supporters can enjoy alcoholic drinks while watching matches from the stands throughout the competition.

That news especially delighted England supporters. The UK football laws currently ban fans from drinking alcohol within sight of the pitch during domestic matches.

Now, Three Lions fans will experience a completely different atmosphere during the World Cup.

Supporters attending matches will reportedly have access to beers including Budweiser, Stella Artois and Michelob Ultra during games.

The relaxed approach closely follows traditional American sports culture, where fans regularly drink inside stadium seating areas during events.

England supporters also received another major boost involving ticket prices. Reports claim prices for all three England group matches have already dropped significantly in recent weeks.

Beer prices will still vary heavily depending on the host city. Fans attending matches at Mexico City’s iconic Azteca Stadium could reportedly pay just over £2 for a pint.

Meanwhile, supporters watching games at stadiums in San Francisco may face prices exceeding £10 per beer.

England will begin the tournament under Thomas Tuchel as supporters dream about finally ending decades of World Cup heartbreak.

And now, with alcohol officially allowed inside stadium seats, many England fans already expect a completely different World Cup experience.
