Mauricio Pochettino picks his next job after World Cup

Several top European clubs are expected to appoint new managers in the coming months.

Mauricio Pochettino’s future has become a major talking point as the 2026 World Cup will start in a few weeks.

The Argentine manager currently remains focused on guiding the United States national team during the tournament on home soil.

However, his contract with the United States men’s national team will expire after the World Cup.

Although the former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea manager has publicly remained open to extending his stay, speculation over a possible departure has not gone away.

Several top European clubs are expected to appoint new managers in the coming months. Meanwhile, one historic club are already searching for a new direction after a disappointing campaign.

The Italian giants recently failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League. As a result, major changes have already taken place behind the scenes.

Massimiliano Allegri has left his position as head coach of AC Milan. Meanwhile, Milan have also sacked their sporting director, chief executive, and technical director.

Now, the club are searching for a high-profile manager capable of rebuilding the project ahead of next season.

According to Nicolo Schira, Mauricio Pochettino has already held talks with AC Milan regarding the vacant managerial position.

The Argentine is not the only candidate linked with the role. Former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola was also viewed as a strong contender for the position.

However, Sky Sports report that Iraola is not interested in joining AC Milan and instead prefers a move to either Liverpool or Bayer Leverkusen.

Now, it remains to be seen whether AC Milan can convince Mauricio Pochettino to return to club football after the 2026 World Cup.
