Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa will make important decisions this summer. However, each club faces very different situations heading into the transfer window.
The Spurs continue reshaping the squad after another disappointing Premier League campaign.
Several changes are already underway across the defensive unit, while more uncertainty could soon emerge between the sticks.
Guglielmo Vicario has struggled for consistency since arriving in North London. The Italian goalkeeper has also been linked with a possible return to Serie A.
Therefore, Tottenham are now assessing alternative options capable of improving stability at the back. Aston Villa are also monitoring the market carefully.
Emiliano Martinez continues attracting attention after being strongly linked with a move away last summer.
Villa could again face serious interest in the Argentina international during the current window.
That uncertainty has forced the Midlands club to prepare possible replacements ahead of the new season.
Villa are also looking to remain competitive after securing Champions League football once again. Both clubs have now reportedly focused attention on the same goalkeeper target.
According to Media Foot, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are showing interest in signing Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier this summer.
The 24-year-old has struggled for regular opportunities at PSG and could now leave the French champions in search of consistent first-team football.
Liverpool have also reportedly monitored the situation. Chevalier has been one of the most talented young goalkeepers in Europe despite his difficult season in Paris.
A move to the Premier League could now offer the French goalkeeper a fresh opportunity to rebuild momentum and establish himself as a first-choice option again.
For Tottenham, Chevalier could provide a more commanding presence inside the penalty area while also bringing strong long-term potential.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa view the Frenchman as a possible successor if Martinez eventually departs. Both Premier League clubs possess the financial strength to complete the transfer if PSG become willing to negotiate.
