Tottenham Hotspur receive £30M bid for defender from Brighton

This time, the Seagulls are eyeing a move for a Spurs defender.

Tottenham Hotspur continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season. Roberto De Zerbi has already started rebuilding the team after Spurs narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League.

The club have strengthened their defence with the arrival of Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson for free. Meanwhile, Tottenham are still pushing to sign Brighton defender Jan Paul van Hecke despite seeing two bids rejected.

However, another defensive story has now emerged. And this time, the Seagulls are eyeing a move for a Spurs defender.

According to The Athletic, Brighton have submitted a £30M offer for Tottenham centre-back Luka Vuskovic. The 19-year-old joined Spurs from Hajduk Split for around £12M last year.

He featured during pre-season but has yet to make a competitive appearance for the club. Instead, Vuskovic spent last season on loan at Hamburger SV.

The Croatian youngster enjoyed an impressive campaign in Germany. He scored six goals in 28 league appearances and established himself as one of the most exciting young defenders in Europe.

Now his future is back in the spotlight. The report claims Brighton are serious about signing the defender. Other leading European clubs also hold an interest.

However, Brighton appear to be in a strong position. Vuskovic reportedly wants regular first-team football. He believes Brighton could provide the ideal environment for his development.

So, the coming weeks could now determine whether Tottenham keep one of their brightest prospects or cash in on Brighton’s growing interest.
