Liverpool are preparing for a major rebuild this summer after a disappointing 2025/26 campaign.
The club has already begun reshaping the squad under new manager Andoni Iraola, and more arrivals are expected before the transfer window closes. The Reds have moved quickly in the market.
Victor Munoz has already arrived after Liverpool hijacked Newcastle United’s move for the Spanish winger. However, the recruitment team is not stopping there.
Liverpool continue to search for reinforcements across multiple positions following the departures of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate.
The club remains heavily focused on securing a long-term attacking replacement for Salah.
RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has emerged as Liverpool’s primary target, although negotiations remain complicated due to Leipzig’s massive valuation.
However, Liverpool are also planning additions in midfield. According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool have now opened talks over a potential move for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.
The 18-year-old has attracted significant attention after impressing both at club level and during the 2026 World Cup.
Liverpool have reportedly made fresh enquiries and held discussions with the player’s representatives in recent days.
However, Liverpool are not alone in the pursuit. Arsenal remain firmly in the race and currently appear to hold an advantage.
The Gunners have monitored Bouaddi for several years and maintain a long-standing interest in the midfielder. Lille are understood to value Bouaddi at around £60 million.
Meanwhile, Liverpool continue to assess several midfield targets as they look to strengthen the centre of the pitch.
The club has previously made contact regarding West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, although Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur currently appear ahead in that race.
Liverpool also admire Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton and Bournemouth star Alex Scott as they evaluate their options. For now, Bouaddi remains one of the most exciting names on Liverpool’s shortlist.
