The Premier League club have now turned their attention towards Liverpool as they search for midfield reinforcements.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are undergoing a major rebuild under new head coach Andoni Iraola.

The Reds have already completed several important signings while changes within the squad continue ahead of the new season.

As a result, uncertainty surrounds the future of several Liverpool players. One of those is Curtis Jones.

The midfielder has entered the final year of his contract at Anfield. Several clubs have already expressed an interest in signing him this summer.

Inter Milan were among the first clubs to make their move. However, their £21 million offer fell well below Liverpool’s reported £35 million valuation.

Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have also been linked with the midfielder. However, Nottingham Forest have now intensified their pursuit.

According to Nicolo Schira, Forest have opened talks with Liverpool over a potential deal for Jones. The report adds that the club are willing to pay between £35 million and £40 million.

Forest are also prepared to offer the 25-year-old a five-year contract if they complete the transfer.

At the moment, Liverpool are not discussing a new contract with Jones. The report claims there is a gap between the player’s expectations and what the club are willing to offer.

Despite that situation, Liverpool are under no pressure to sell. The club could wait until pre-season before making a final decision, as Andoni Iraola may still decide to keep the midfielder.
